Do you guys have a separate adapter for each lens, or do you leave the adapter in the body and unscrew the lens?

Curious minds want to know! Is there a good reason to do one or the other?

Chris,

I started with the "clever" idea of using one adapter and just screwing the lenses I had in and out all the time. Strangely one of my main reasons for buying an R2A over an R was that the former had the M-bayonet system... So basically I turned by R2A into a fancy screw-mount camera. I suffered with that for a few weeks and then finally went the 1 adapter per lens way. I've never looked back - it's so much nicer. Well worth the cash outlay (well, unless you have 10 lenses maybe).

One per lens for me too. You can get them used for $30-35 or so and it's much easier IMO.

That depends. If I am using my M body and want the 21CV along I will mount the adaptor to the lens for convenience. If I wanted to use several screw mount lens with an M, I would get an adaptor for each for convenience sake. If it was only screw mounts on an M, I would just have the one adaptor on the body.

As stated above, having the faster lens-changing comfort of a bayonet is one of the main reasons for using multiple adapters.
Besides, Hexar CLE and Leica's change the framelines in the viewfinder automatically because of the specific mount.

Makes sense.

cheers, Rob.

one per lens - it keeps the time it takes to change lenses low. Plus on leicas, the framelines that show are dictated by the lens, in this case the adaptor, so you need at least one per lens width (unless you want to fiddle with the preview lever...)

um exactly - im a sloww typer sometimes...... : )

One per lens, also. Right now I have one on a Canon 50mm F1.5 and one on a Nikkor 10.5cm F2.5. have not decided what lens to use with the spare 50 adapter.

Another to add to the tidal wave - one per lens. Can get expensive if you buy a lot of FSU gear, those lenses are cheaper than the adapters!

Good news is, you tend to accumulate them as part of the deal when you buy used CV lenses 😉
