Quick release strap connection?

I am looking for a quick release connection like Leica uses on their newer straps. Does anyone know of a source for such an item?

I know my last resort is to pick up a Leica strap, but I am trying to save money. (But if anyone has an unused Leica strap cheap, please let me know)

I'm unfamiliar with the Leica item, but might a small carabiner serve the purpose? You can find them in sizes as small as maybe 2 inches long, for under $1.
