In order to avoid buying Epson's charger ($192 !!) I recently bought a "synergy-digital" brand version and it was TERRIBLE.

I now have the CFU002L I bought from here and it seems to work great. It also has a nice feature that the epson doesn't. When the battery is 90% charged an indicator light blinks.

Any other experiences appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks, James. I have an RD-1 "in route" and am concerned about battery charging. Where "here" did you get the synergy? Classifieds? Thanks for sharing this information.
. . . Burkey

Ahhhhh, O.K. Thanks. Had I run da' mouse over it I would have seen the light, or at least the link. Thanks again for the information.

I got one of these from B&H when they still stocked them. Small, plugged straight into the wall. No discharge function, but it did the job.

This LINK has it on Amazon for a pretty cheap price ($8.35 before shipping). B&H had them for $22. I have no experience with the Amazon vendor.

I use it as a backup. I liked it because it did not have a bulky external plug.

I lost my charger and need to find a new one in a hurry. Any new tips for where to get one cheap and most of all quickly!

What's the difference between CFU002L and CFU002SU.

Are there any other than this charger for fujifilm np-80 batteries thats good with the r-d1?

Thanks for the help I really need a new charger as fast as possible!

I am really glad to have stumbled onto this thread ! Now I can afford a spare charger for my batteries.

Anyone use the Fujifilm NP-80 instead of the original Epson batteries for the R-D1 ? How's the performance of this product ?

Thanks saxshooter, unfortunatly the amazon link you put up is shipping from the USA so I would have to pay 70 dollars for shipping only. Way too much for me, I'd prefer somerthing from Europe.

Are there any problems which might arise from not using the original R-D1 charger? Or is it all about the batteries (sorry, don't understand much about electrics).

Are there any other options for a replacement charger than the CTA Digital MR-NP80 Mini Battery Charger for Fuji NP-80 Battery? So some of you have used this one for a longer period of time with no worries?

Thank you very much for your help!

Does no one bother to read my R-D1 FAQ pages - the one and only sticky thread in this forum?

I've a whole section on battery chargers, including a link to a reliable eBay seller (well, I never had any problems with them) of the aforementioned charger. They're based in Hong Kong, and the price including postage to me in the UK was £7.50.

The build quality of this charger is fair, and I had no problems with it. But if you want a higher-quality (albeit at £35) alternative, Hahnel sell one. Again, see my website.

Rich, an off-topic thank you for linking to the Epson RAW converter for Windows. I could not find it on the Epson site.
