Dear Carlos,
It would be a pleasure to come at your vernissage tonight but unfortunately I'm so far from NYC…
I've never been, but hopefully I'll come one day ...

Guys,

I just want to thank you all for your support. The exhibition yesterday was awesome! The pictures looked great on 18x12" prints. I got lots of compliments. If you are in NY and needs to get GREAT quality prints, I strongly recommend Duggal. They rock!

Looking at the printed picture quality gave me second thoughts on buying a M8.2 or M9. 6MP seems to be more than enough for 18x12 prints. I am still lusting for a full frame rangefinder, but for printing purposes, the R-D1s is just perfect for my needs.

Thanks again!!

If you

Carlos, congratulations on your show.
Initially, you wrote "I shot in RAW and converted them using EPSON's Raw Editor, selecting the 13.5MP option. After that, I post processed each file using Aperture 3.1." In the end, did you follow that procedure, or did you adopt some of the suggestions. I have used the 13.5MP option a couple of times, but with mixed results. Once it worked extremely well; the other time not so well. I wonder what worked for you.

And I liked your story about shooting the pictures for your project. I once had a mechanic, who was relieved to know my work in court wasn't as a prosecutor.

I changed it a little bit. I didn't select the 13.5MP option. Instead, I chose the 6MP one. Than I processed the files on Aperture 3 and upsized them using Perfect Resize 7 Professional. I am pretty happy with the results.

I am glad you liked the story behind the pics! Thanks!
