One thing I remember about him, is Steve McQueen gave John a mug that says 'For work beyond the call of duty' or something like that. Best wishes to the mourning family and friends.

A very long time ago, my mother and I attended the PPA Traveling Road Show, and Dominis was a presenter. He was the newly-minted picture editor of the newly-founded People magazine. Mostly I remembered how often he exhorted the pros in the audience to submit "SHARP PICTURES!!!" People was all B&W in the beginning. I liked the wildlife pictures he did for Life, I think.
