I am getting a Voigtlander R2 and will initially be looking for a couple of screw mount lenses, probably 35mm and 50mm. I'm confused over the needed bayonet adapters. Is a different bayonet adapter needed for each lens or can one size fit all or most?

ok, this info is from my reading not from my experience.

i think the adapter will fit any screw mount (39mm) lens but, depending on which lens, their are different adapters to set the frame lines for different lenses. now this is for leica cameras, with the bessa you set the frame lines yourself so i'm thinking one adapter should do it.
unless of course you want to change lenses faster that one adapter per lens would be the way to go. and if that's what you do then you might as well buy the correct adapter in case you wind up with a leica someday.

Joe is correct, one adapter will fit all LTM lenses. As you have seen, there are different adapters for specific lenses...28/90,35/135,50/75.

Joe is correct again, if you are using an LTM lens with a Leica body, you want to use the correct adapter so that it will bring up the correct frameline in the camera. With the Bessa R2, you manually select the visible framelines, so any adapter can be used with any lens. That being said, one of the advantages of the Leica M mount is quick easy lens changing. You can survive with only one adapter with multiple lenses, but then you will need to swap the adapter to the new lens you wish to use, adding time to your lens changes. You can also technically leave the adapter on the camera mount, and screw the lens into the mount which is already on the camera.
