I'm considering buying a 90 Elmar-C but have read some places that there is a potential for focus errors due to the fact that it was designed for the CL and the CL had a different base length.

Anyone us an Elmar-C on your Bessa? Do you have any focusing issues? Sample pics are always welcome too!

Take care,

Jim

Shouldn't be a problem. A very sharp lens. If you are worried about the slanted RF cam, look for the newest version, the Rokkor 90/4 that was made for the CLE. That has a straight cam. Also easier to filter (40.5mm instead of series 5.5).

Roland.

I've had no focus issues with the 90 Elmar-C on my M4-2. The photos were quite sharp (more than I expected for this lens). I am currently using the 40 Summicron-C on the R3a and have not experienced focus issues (nor on the M4-2). I don't have my 90 on hand (sadly left it home and am now on a year long trip in Asia 🙁 ) to test it on the R3a, but there shouldn't be any issues. With the lens being an F4, the R2a should be able to focus it accurately. One thing is the Series 5.5 filter issue, because if you're a frequent filter user/changer then this might drive you nuts :bang:
