R3 Mot battery question

hello guys,i just took posession of a r3 mot.it isn't an m series but hopefully someone here might know the answer.the battery testing device doesn't appear to be functioning but i do have metering with the battery installed.is there another test to see if the unit is powered up?.i am still waiting for film to arrive.

I can't tell you the answer but if you are talking about the Leica R3-MOT SLR and you don't have a manual there is one here http://www.butkus.org/chinon/leica/leica_r3/leica_r3.htm . There might be something in there.

thanks for the input guys.i assumed the battery was dead when the test button showed nothing but fresh batteries changed nothing in this regard.the metering doesn't have an led but rather a slash like indicator,it no longer adjusts when i remove the batteries so hopefully that is a good sign as well as the shutter working.

Yea, you are probably good to go if the meter and shutter work regardless of what the battery test on the camera indicates.
