R3A shipping soon

Yes, it is done 🙂 My R3a came in today. First impression:
- Well made, nice handling.
- RF slightly off vertically and very, very slightly off horizontally but that is maybe my Summicron-M 2/50.
- Shutter sounds like an SLR without the mirror slap. No comparison to my Hexar AF but I don't care about that.
- I second the impressions of the 40mm framelines. Hard to see if you wear glasses.
- The 1:1 finder is really fine. Since I am more used to SLRs I still need some training to keep both eyes open but I try hard 🙂
- No manual included but I was able to load the film and set shutter speeds. So no trouble at all.
The weather was not that good today but I went to Basle to shoot a roll of Tri-X. If I do not ruin the film, like I did last time I developed at home, I can present some pictures in the gallery tomorrow.

"jap"?

edit added: I'm giving you the benefit of doubt and will assume you're typing in short form and not using "jap" in a derogatory manner. I do find that term (when not typed in a hurry) offensive, as my wife is Japanese and my children are half Japanese.

I think he meant it as short-hand. (I understand how you feel though Frank being half-Japanese myself).

John, if you're still around, could I possibly trouble you to e-mail a copy to me also?? I'd really appreciate it!

Dear John, thanks very much for the manual!

Frank: I"ll be the last person who'd be racist about the japanese cuz I'm asian myself (chinese) and here in Singapore we refer to japanese folks as japs, in fact I"ve not known that "japs" is derogatory. My apologies if I have offended you. Rest assured, I a very big fan of japanese girls I think they are just so pretty and feminine, and so I"ll be the last male on earth to be discriminatory to them! 😀
