I just noticed that I have lost the rubber viewfinder frame on my R3M.

Without the frame it seems that flare becomes an issue in bright situations because the eye is very close to the finder.

I was searching and I could not find it anywhere online.

Any help would be appreciated.

There was a thread in the ZI forum where they said it was the same thread as a Nikon FM2. I ordered the part and it fits great.

Do a search on Vistek.ca for 12554 (the Nikon part number). It's not cheap, I know there is an off-brand one out of the states that is considerably cheaper but I bought this one. Mine came in a Nikon box but did not say Nikon on it, like in the picture on Vistek's site.

Thanks. I'll look around for a better deal - I hate Vistek.

I didn't buy it there either. I bought it at a local store for dealer cost, which was quite a bit less.

I can't remember where the off-brand ones came from but it's in the thread in the ZI forum on RFF. It was only a month or two back.

I asked Rob from BigCameraWorkshops.com if he could get the proper Bessa one ordered as a part and it didn't seem like he could.

Only $5 to ship in the US. Why so much more to Canada?

If you would like, I could buy two and forward one on to you for a buck shipping over cost. (I assume I could just slip it in a padded envelope and mail it on.)

Thank you so much. I'll check out the local stores and if I could not find it I'll let you know.

In any case, I've ordred 2 from Adorama. I need one.

When they get here, I'll reserve one for Nh3. If he passes, I'm sure I can get rid of the other at cost.

Thanks Steve. I went out and used the camera today and I did not feel any difference. So, for now I'm going to hold on. I did not even check the local camera stores.

As a matter of fact, I was able to see the 40 frame lines much better without the frame!

Yah I didn't mind using it without the eyepiece but my wife wears glasses and I didn't want her to scratch them when using the camera.
