Before critique of any photo, I should ask is this a worthy subject. Likely this subject won't appeal to many, but can other attributes of the photograph carry the weight?
Composition and framing is very important here, and light seems best if it is from the side. If there is a developed idea or communication here, would others recognize the idea?
I think the eyes should be drawn to one area of the photo once settled. Leading lines are more difficult since there are many lines.
The point of the photograph is to display stasis in two forms. The above ice reeds will change slowly through the season of winter but the below ice reeds will remain more static. A comparison of appearance of the same reeds above and below ice.
I think monotone is best? Would many viewers be distracted by numerous bubbles?
Two more efforts could be added, setting up a tripod once the ice is thicker and study the light on the ice and reed through out the short winter hours.
Is this a rabbit hole? Worth the effort to practice and learn? Photograph that can be appreciated by more than myself?
