I was at at a book-reading of hers a few years back when Shutterbabe (yes, I have it) first hit the racks. Kogan was quite pleasant to talk to (and talk shop with just a bit), but I knew I wasn't in the presence of a technical big-brainer. I don't even think she regards herself as an especially great photographer, either, simply someone who has been some places and experienced some things a lot of us haven't...no more, no less. She's not terribly full of herself, which is largely why I cut her a bit more slack than others who puff themselves up quite a bit more while making rather similar gaffes.
And, judging from the book's cover, at least she knows the right way to handle a Leica.
