I've got a slight vertical rangefinder misalignment. Does anyone know how to adjust this on a IIIa?

Behind the trim ring of the wind side R/F window there's a round piece of glass that can be turned both ways.

Can the glass be adjusted with the trim ring in place? It looks like the previous owner glued it in place.

If you're careful with a fine pointy tool you can turn that lens with the trim ring on it, unless the previous owner glued that stuck as well. I did this on my Fake Leica, I'd not be so eager to try it on my IIIa though. Too easy to scratch something.
Underneath the trim ring you can find two indents in the bezel of the little RF lens, stick the prongs of the tool in those indents to turn it.
Good luck and be careful!

Thanks for the help... I found the indents, but it doesn't seem to want to turn. I guess they glued it.
