Ok, I promise this is the last Bessa III thread I'm starting. I'm selling my Hasselblad on the weekend and after that it's ordering time :)

Anyways, since I'll be ordering from Stephen from abroad, I'm wondering if there's the possibility of the rangefinder getting kicked out of alignment during shipping? Should this happen, can the rangefinder be adjusted by the user or does it have to be done by a repair person?

Thanks

It would be under warranty for one year, you would ship it back to me for warranty alignment. Do not open it up, as that will void the warranty.

Thanks
Stephen

But then it would have to be shipped back again and possibly get knocked out of alignment again :)

Anyways, I'm not terribly worried about it but was still curious about whether or not this is a possibility. Did you have any such problems yet with overseas shipments of Bessa III cameras?

Of course I would never open up a new camera as I'm not a technician. I thought maybe there was some kind of easily accessible screw that can be adjusted for rangefinder acurracy.
I suppose the warranty is also voided if I have the rangefinder adjusted by a local licensed repair person? I'm just asking because possibly the cost of back and forth shipping would equal the price of a local repair.

no problems so far,
warranty valid so long as serviced by CQ techs.

Thanks

I have had my Bessa III for a while now. About 35-40 rolls through it. It gets banged around with my other cameras in an un-padded bag. So far no problem with the alignment - and I am still on the original battery it came with.
Seems very robust and sturdy - and that finder!!!!!! Worth the price of admission on its own. Very easy to focus even in low contrast light.
