Hey guys! Having a bit of an issue with my newly purchased, well-used Mamiya 6.

I’d owned one a couple years back, always regretted selling it... but anyway, I’ve been well acquainted with rangefinder focus being off at infinity, issues with the 150mm, etc.

This one, though, is having some serious issues with the 75mm (only lens I have at the moment). Focuses fine up to 7 feet (2 meters), but thereafter the horizontal image starts going back the way it came (to the right) and the images never sync up. All the photos I’ve developed so far have been focused on subjects 7” or closer, and they’re all tack-sharp. But it’s a royal pain in the butt trying to figure out the focus on anything further away.

The little black knob that hides the rangefinder adjustment screws was glued on haphazardly, so someone definitely toyed with it. I lost the knob, so the only thing separating me from those adjustment screws is a piece of black electrical tape.

Do I risk it? I know it’s the right side screw that controls the horizontal image, but I’m not sure which way to turn or what distance I should be calibrating it at... infinity focus issues are one thing, but for the rangefinder images to lose sync at 7” seems like it may be a bigger issue.

Any ideas? Gracias por todo!
