it's been a while since this came up, and we've had so many new members join that I figured it was time to mention it again

the unofficial RFF book can be ordered HERE

full of images taken by 25 members of our own little community.. it's a marvelous book that can inspire us all

and while we're on the subject, I'm wondering if anyone else has used the Lulu print on demand service

It *is* a very cool book, and I have one. Everyone should get one, so there. And I don't have any photos of mine it, so I have no ego involved in this one.

I have not done anything with Lulu, but it is on my to-do list. I have been doing some extensive research on printing-on-demand and products-on-demand as I go about setting up my photo/writing business (I will make money by ticking everybody off, I'm really good at it), and I cannot find a better print-on-demand service than Lulu thus far. Whomever came up with that idea here at RFF was really on the ball.

I was browsing through the websites of various advertisers in Rangefinder Magazine the other day, trying to see what was out there for online printing/framing/etc. Nothing really that great, but one company in particular wanted me to join their website as a member before I could 'see' anything. Then they wanted to email me a password. That took two days. Then when I got logged in, they wanted me to fax them my D&B number and my financials. Oops. Old tech, dudes. You're gonna get waxed by the new breed. I declined to do so and they called me. Why wasn't I interested in seeing what they had on offer? Because you don't know what year it is, I replied.

Anyway, I'm fascinated by the Lulu model - hope it works out in the end, but I think they're onto something.

Best Regards,

Bill Mattocks

I'm one of the lucky 25. I bought 5 copies to give away to my parents, both my grandmothers and my brother-in-law (and kept 1 copy for myself). It is indeed a nice book. People have commented on it in superlative wordings. 🙂

So far, I haven't but I'm working on it. I know there are a few RFF members that have. On -my blog- I mentioned them. IIRC, the 28mm was one, though I could be mistaken. "Woofers" is another one. And there's at least one or two more.
