Rangefinder glare/flare/white-out in my M5?

I have not observed any noticeable flare in the viewfinder of my M5 when making backlit pictures. Maybe it requires a certain situation to trigger it? The backlit pictures I have made have been mainly portraits (to obtain that halo of light look), but some architectural pictures as well.
