Rangefinders with polarizers, look here.

Thanks for posting this, Rob. I dug a little and found that this is available in Japan: $36.00 for the viewfinder and $60.00 for the filter -- couldn't find anything in the US. THK Products would be the likely US distributor, but nothing on their site. Have any other members seen this available in their area?

You get the desired polarizing effect with the viewfinder filter and then match the setting to the filter attached on the lens -- seems as though it would be handy to have at times.

Another good device for polarizing!

For what it's worth, I recently made some images with the Canon GIII QL-17 and the Vivitar ES with polarizers. I found that by watching the exposure needle drop as I was turning the polarizer, I could determine the degree of polarization. It worked quite well.

Just received this bad news:

"Doug;

Unfortunately, no. There are no plans regarding importing the
Rangefinder polarizer.

Any Forum members from Japan that can bootleg a few of these into the US? I need one in 40.5mm...

Many Polarizers have index marks on them. Buy two, hold one up to your eye and then set the Polarizer on the Camera to match the mark. If you have two that are not marked, hold them together and turn one until the image is completely black. They are oriented 90 degrees from each other. Mark each accordingly. You could but a cheap viewer, like a Sandmar, and attach the second filter onto it. This would be a lot less than $100!

I have a Kodak Series VI Polarizer with attached viewing filter. It screws into a Series VI retaining ring. The little polarizing viewing filter "orbits" the camera's filter, attached on a handle.

I came across a site which has goodies aimed at Leica users which has a polariser attachment, in this case a v. large filter holder with windows you can see through...aw, just look at it yrself, you'll see better than I can explain it:
