Rangerfinder focus "lags"

I've been having a weird issue with my Bessa R3A lately. If I haven't used my camera in a hour or so, the rangefinder focusing patch "lags" behind the position of the focusing on the lens. That is, if I twist the tab from infinity focus to close focus, the patch with either take three or four seconds to move to the proper position or won't move at all. Remounting the lens or waiting a while seems to fix the issue.

Has anyone ever heard of a problem like this?

yes I've seen it before, don't remember what camera it was though... I think it was my M4, had it sent to Youxin for CLA and never had a problem since. but as I said, not 100% sure it was the M4...

I don't think so, but you could be forgiven for thinking so with the Epsons. Even my Epson R-D1 that was serviced by Epson earlier this year is starting to do it :bang:

check the RF follower- the arm with the wheel in the lens... hole... in the camera.

kinda poke at it. it should spring back out towards the front of the camera. if it sticks, something is bent or needs re-lubing.

if the RF follower arm is snappy, then there's something wrong inside the RF or on the lens.
