I'm curious about this Rapid/Koni Omega rangefinder from Konica... seems not many people use it, but I've heard that the lenses are excellent. A few weeks back I posted a thread about a medium format equivalent of a Leica 35mm... does this fit the bill? (Of course the portability issue is out of question here 😀.)

I use mine to hammer nails and crack walnuts.

The quality is quite good, but it is a chunk to tote around. Mine has gone largely unused because I wasted money buying a bad wide angle lens and got discouraged.
I've since decided that if I'm going to carry something that heavy around, it'll have to be a Crown Graphic.

Koni-Omega rocks!

Koni-Omega rocks!

I had a Koni-Omega 100 back in The Land Before Time. It was a good camera. I sometimes miss it.

In addition to the Mamiya 6 & 7, the Bronica 645 qualifies also. However, I don't think any of those cameras have the interchangeable backs like the Koni-Omega. Or 3 shoes on top of the rangefinder. 😀 😎

Early this spring I was photographing an event at our local grade school. In attendance was the First Lady of Iowa and her body guards. I was photographing using a Leica M2 and a Canon P, everything was fine. I brought out the Koni-Omega and snapped one shot, when I advanced the film the bodyguard whirled around and looked me directly in the eye. Apparently he thought the cocking sound of the Koni was similar to the cocking sound of a 1911 Colt .45. I decided that that one shot with the Koni was good enough for the day.
