RD-1 with Summicron 35/2.0 stolen 3.1.09 on Tenerife/Spain

For the lack of a better place to post this, I at least will try to raise awareness for stolen property:

I had a R-D1 (serial 002035) with a Leitz Summicron 35/2.0 (serial 3639406) stolen last Saturday 3.1.2009 near Santa Cruz de Tenerife in Spain.

Should by any chance someone be offered this kit or find it anywhere announced, would you please let me know?

it may be possible/useful to notify the manufacturers if the items are under guarantee or may require manufacturer-level service in future? it was useful to send the serial number of a stolen rolex to the factory.

is anyone here who lives on Tenerife?
My best bet would be second hand photo shops in Santa Cruz. They have taken money from my bank account at Santa Cruz yesterday, so I assume that they are after quick cash.
 
Olaf, so sorry to hear of the theft! Best of luck with this. It could help prevent others from suffering the same (and satisfy curiosity) if you will describe how this happened. They got your credit card too, enabling them to draw cash?

I was on Lanzarote in the Canary Is. in April with my M8 and Summicron 28... I can imagine their being stolen... it would have been a nightmare. I hope your trip was otherwise pleasant and you brought back some pictures at least?

big stupid me left luggage in the trunk of my car while at beach. Though merely 100m away I did not notice anything due to the surf. Rear window broken, backrest of rear seat open ... and gone they were. Most likely the f...ers watch us arrive. The holiday was great, but all pictures gone with the camera.

I grew up in Santa Cruz de Tfe. many, many years ago and it was the best place in the whole world. Very little crime and virtually none of it violent. I moved to the States in late 1979 and haven't been back to Tenerife since the mid 80s but I hear from friends that things have changed quite a lot.
