良かったね!
I have done that for a trip. (I actually kept the 35/1.2 in the bag for evenings). I think it's just about ideal for that body.
[Alternately, sell your children, buy a hex dual for day and carry the 1.2 for night.]

What are the equiv. focal lengths in 135 full frame?
28/50 sounds good to me, but in full frame.

When I carry two lenses, it's 28 & 50.
(Frank, it about 35 & 75 -- give or take.)

I have other lenses, but I mainly use a 28 and occasionally a 50 on the RD-1. The 40mm equivalent 28mm is an all round standard lens that I can use in most situations. It can be limiting, but sometimes that is a good thing. I use a 28 elmarit ASPH, and a 50 summicron.

Shoot first, think later
My RD1 kit consists of the Canon 50/1.2 for its heavenly portraits, the CV 28/1.9 as the "standard" lens, and the CV 15mm when I need something wide. I've tried a ton of other configurations, always came back to this one (the CV 40/1.4 sometimes replaces the 50/1.2).

Last year I took a week or so vacation with the RD1, 28/2.8 Canon, and 50/1.4 lux. All I ended up using were the 28, but there were times (nightfall), when I wish I had the 50, not so much for the fl, but for the 1.4.
I'd take a 28 + anything (35, 40, or 50) as long as that 2nd one is 1.4 or faster.

my 28 is 1.9 and my 50 is 1.1
the 2 lens kit would be the speed kit.

How is the focus of the 1.1 on your R-D1?

That sounds like a good combo
I have a 28/50 for my FF..
the spread from 40 to 75 is enough not to be too close in fov
(You're keeping the 35/1.2?)

This is why I was more comfortable with the 50/3.5 on my R-D1S which has a bit of vertical shift and slight back focus which isn't an issue @ 3.5 but is with the Canon LTM 50/1.2 wide open.
The effective RF base is one of my issues with the R-D1S which is greatly improved with the M8.2, yes I realize completely different cameras....
i also have the cv 50/2.5 for 'normal' use. the 1.1 can easily be used as an everyday lens if you keep to 2.8 and above.

Cant believe you want to take out the best fast lens you have! If anything I'd lose the other two. But .....it's your choice.

I love my CV 35/1.2 on film and RD1S bodies. To me - it's not just the FL, but how it draws - just pure pleasure. I do have and like CV 40/1.4, plus M-Hexanon 50/1.2 and a couple of other fast 50's, but CV 35/1.2 is SPECIAL. I like it so much that my other great 35mm lens - M-Hexanon 35/2- hardly ever gets used. But, as said above - different strokes...

i really did try to like this lens...maybe i'll revisit it again, in the future...but i just did not care for it.
now, the 50/1.1 is the lens, atm, that i would choose if i had to live with just one lens.
