Re.using fixer

The question that comes to my mind is if this effect can be used to re-silver prisms from SLRs or mirrors from TLRs.

Not that I am willing to do it...

It just might, in my school days we used to do an experiment which deposited silver on a bottle, it used ammonia, silver nitrate to make the reagent and sugar to run the reaction

You already have the silver-ammmonium-thiosulfate complex in the fixer so a cool chemical reaction is going on there and you must figure out what is triggering it
