Re-washing BW400CN negs?

I had a roll of BW400CN come back to me from the developers covered with tiny little hard water spots (this from the supposedly "pro" lab :bang: )Can I re-wash these negatives in distilled water like regular b&w film, or do I have to find some more exotic chemical to avoid damaging the film?

I would buy a gallon of distilled water at your local pharmacy. Pour a quart into a clean container and soak your film for a couple of minutes. Then pour out the water and pour in another quart/liter with a couple of drops of Kodak's Photo-flo solution, or Sprint's End-Run. Then hang to dry in a dust-free space. Should be ok. The film's gelatin layer will be soft when wet, so go easy with the film. No "squeegee-ing" or touching the film until it is dry.

You might consider buying a bottle of C41 stabilizer, too - if you wash out the stab, they might fade faster...
