Off topic in repect of photography ? Well a year ago I stumbled upon something which pierces the mind- blindness , to provide a glimpse of the sense of reality know by my '' big sisters '' [ understanding friends ]
The Leica II .
Experience suggests that the most ''real toys '' are those ''imprinted in the 1st ten years - 1947 / 57, so I assume that child me was allowed to play with a Leica II .
I do go on about Leica and my ex-USSR derivatives , but , not only are they the most '' real / tangible '' toys that I have ever held , but the ritual and constancy is , for me , literally ''mind opening / blowing '' ...
ASdee is SPECIFIC though - I can accommodate different finishes ... extend the ''family '' to Zorki S and Zenit S [ feel the same to hold ] , but Leica IIIC and Fed 2 create more '' what is it ? '' anxiety .
This forum has helped me to explore and realise this - and to understand my total immersion in Leica II and pretenders .a
As is usual with ASdee , many Leica IIs '' surround and ground me '' - and seem to repeat and verify the stimulus of ''safe / known ''- and mika- mouse [ mika = moscowphoto ! ] Leica tributes are a cost effective screen from ASdee chaos !
It's taken a year of puzzlement as to why my mind is so anxious / worried about Cyrillic writing , or Fed 2 /Zorki 3 / 4 / 6 ...[ not same as Leica II ] or why Leica II is more comrfortable , virtually '' part of me '' as nothing ever has before.
Why it , and my Fed 1g '' balck Leica tributes are so crucial to my sense of safety in a world which is relentlessly unreal . so , there IS a reason for those poor ID stolen Fed/ Zorki ''Leicas " !
Obviously , this sounds wierd from outside - from inside , it's often dee'sorientating and always I feel stupid in that if only I would try harder it MUST all come together - but inteligence does not fix it .
But, soberly , i am much better off than many with this glitch ... and those wh could not cope ...
.. amazingly the Kiev is almost as real / safe - lightening striking twice in 6 decades - though where I might have encountered a Contax ....
thank you for your patience and support - taliking Fed/Zorki /Leica is one hell of a lot better than the shadow of ASD !
