Hi forum!
A brief history of today midday here, i thought i'd share it.
I just went out to downtown to pick up some prints from my latest yashica gsn walk
- and then, bang!
In the shop, on some shells, there are alot of vintage stuff. Like, folders, tlr's. Mostly dirty and broken.
But there was that beautiful contax (II or higher, dunno exactly but certainly not I) with a shiny clean face and a magnificent eye called sonnar 50/2 looking at me...
what, looking...staring! winking! piercing me with his(her?) blueish look!
So i went to the guy asked him what's the story (i knew they are collection and not second-hand for sale stuff - those are kept in another corner with price tags on them.)
Well, i was directed to another worker who is the "owner" of the place, a very nice lady... so i asked her with my cutest smile, wassup with the contax.....
'Beautiful, heh?' she smiled back. And then,
'I won't sell it, sorry!'
'Are you completely sure?' -i put on the desperate, save-my-puny-life face.
'Absolutly terribly hundred-and-five procent sure!' she said.
Well, that's all.
It scared me a bit. On the 'net, i was never ever so much tempted. I see day by day offers about all kind of weird cameras, sometimes i play with the idea, sometimes i even bid on them...not too seriously... but this time it was LIVE! right there in front of me!
I knew it's probably not working well, i knew i don't NEED it, i knew it would certainly not be cheap...i still wanted that beauty!
HELP!!!
PS: now i know what's next. I will start looking for one, online. 🙁
