I bought a fully working M3 in "tip top mechanical condition" except that when it arrived, the finder patch was very dim, the framelines were stuck and the shutter wasn't fully opening at about 1/2 the speeds. It went off the CRR to confirm the faults and a quote for the "resolution process". This took nearly 2 months and had to be finalized before I could give them the OK to go ahead. Then it went in the wait where normally you would still be using the camera. Take all that out and it comes down to 2-3 months. I don't know what it is now but the last time I made ebquiries, the waiting list for Shintaro was over a year and CRR is in the same country.

Kim,
I missed buying your recent M6 here. Please let me know if there is another M6 on the horizon.

Crap, okay. I give up. That's an insane waiting time.

Need to do a bit of testing, but I have a Fed-2 system (35 w/finder, 50, 85 w/finder) that has just been CLAed by Oleg. I has a Fed-5 takeup spool that makes loading very M6ish. Want to run a roll of film through the lenses to make sure that are focusing right.
Stay tuned, more good stuff on its way!!!

A guy at work asked me to find a home for his OM10 with adapter and 2 lenses. One is a 200/3.5. I think the other is a Vivitar 28 on a T mount if any is of interest.
Kim
is the 200 a zuiko?
any idea how much he wants.
i'm trying for a 3 lens kit on a bargain budget.
i just got a 50/1.8 and i'm waiting to hear on a 28. the 200 might be a good fit.

Lol, before you know it, you will be looking for a second body. I have a bunch of zuiko's I am not using, but no 200 prime. Let me know and I'll get a spreadsheet.

Joe: What exactly is your goal in camera equipment? It seems that you keep on "optimizing" your systems. I have plenty of SLR gear that needs to be optimized by someone [hint].

Very good! When I was shopping in April a local shop had an early 2 lug M5 with a crushed upper front corner by the shutter speed dial. They "came down" to $700. I declined. Sherry Krauter can make an M5 like new with a $300 CLA. Very nice camera.

OM? Some of my favorite gear to use! But hardly rangefinder. Seems this forum might be willing to stretch and flex a bit?

Seriously, I want an M2 now. I have the money for it. I'm looking all over Ebay and everywhere else. You ***** afflicted me with this curse! Note, the previous set of stars.. is actually a set of stars
I'm pining for a Leica M2, repainted black by someone like Shintaro. I'll either have to buy an M2 and send it off to be repainted or buy a repainted one, but that's almost impossible to find.
So I have GAS, and I blame it on these forums. I seem to be going backwards though.. from an M6 TTL to an M2? Wha?
Here you go. A perfect paint & leather project M2. Decent Buy it Now price.
M2 in Germany
HURRY! Only a day left.

don't really have a goal in mind for this stuff either.
a small kit to keep on hand for 'dangerous' territory? not really.
to play with a zoom lens and maybe something really long, down the road.
i had some leftover $$ in the paypal account and now i have a 3 lens system (maybe 4) for very few dollars.

Raid, depending on what you have, I'm yet another person who has the need to get an SLR.

Joe: I may have what you are looking for in a cheap very long lens; it is a Tamron 200-500 old style Adaptamatic lens. It comes with the Canon FD adapter. It's not bad at all for an inexpensive lens. All you need is a cheap FD body with it, and you are set to go shoot photos of distant things!
