My current order has nothing but backorders on it- normal size archival boxes and a portfolio box. I ordered on September 1st, got an email notifying me of the backordered items (everything?) on the third, and another email two weeks later in reply to my question about an estimated arrival date. I was told four to six weeks then, they are now six to eight weeks past that estimate and my last email about three weeks ago went unanswered. Last time I ordered with them, about a year and a half ago, it was a similar story. Sad end to a company that was once among the best when it came to customer service?
Has anyone else run into these extremely long wait times for what used to be always in stock items?

Materials.
Such is the explanation. Will be late January. Makes Leica NJ seem fast.
They mailed me a letter explaining this three weeks ago, but to my street address where I cannot get mail delivery.
Ah well. The proofsheets continue to pile up...

For the last two semesters my son, who is a college photo student, twice tried to order mat board from Light Impressions for his end of the semester portfolio. The first time he waited weeks for the board and never heard from them, and never got the board. I encouraged him to try again for this semester as I had never had problems with them in the past, and I assured him that their lack of any communication must had been a fluke. After four days of waiting we decided to call them to make sure he wouldn't get stuck again having to buy inferior board last minute. The sales rep told us the board we ordered was back ordered and wouldn't be in for weeks. Again, no email from them to inform us, and we had wasted four days time. I am very disappointed. I have always ordered my portfolios from them, but now I'm not sure if it's worth trying to buy from them again. And yet, I'm still getting emails from them to order in time for Christmas.

Yeah, gotta love those. I clicked on some of the links and was taken to the very boxes I ordered which are backordered till late January. 10% off tho...
Shame, because their products are excellent (or always have been anyway). The move to California seems to have started the collapse.
Your son might give these folks a try- not the same range of boxes, but excellent product none the less.
