Why do you think this presents a reason to point out the M8's short comings? Looks like a good argument of why to buy an M8. Seems to point out it's strengths.

This camera is junk. The pictures only have little bits in focus with the rest blurry plus the colour is complete washed out to black and white. My CanoNikPanaSony P&S can produce 100% colour images with everything in focus.

yep, the problem though is the subject matter, i think in truth the M8 is fine and you cant blame the camera etc...

shots like that will never be compelling, they will never alter the way you think about what's around you or force you into thinking about HOW you SEE.

hey graham, could we see some test shots from your canonikpanasony??? say one of your cat, or of the coffee mug next to the keyboard at work... i mean i like the m8 but it sure takes lousy cat pictures.

Since I don't have a cat, who cares? For shooting everything else it is perfect. ;-)

These are great! I agree with grduprey, these shots point out all the strengths clearly. You're black and white processing is spot on too. If you told me they were scanned negatives, I may have believed you.

I just received my M8 this past week and I'm about to shoot my first show with it tonight. I cannot wait. I even stole an SD card from my father's camera bag just in case I go crazy and fill up my card.

I'll be honest, I'm not 100% sold on the camera just yet, but I'm going to stick with it and work on it because in my opinion there is no other digital alternative for me (I stress the word "me"). It handles beautifully, but noise is an issue. I shoot a lot of 3200 with my M6 and I don't feel shooting at 2500 to be an option.

Great photos! These are the exact reason why I've fallen in love with this camera after only 4 days of using it. Below is a link to some work I did last night. The great thing about this camera I realized is that I love it because it handles like my M6, has the convenience of digital, good image quality (I didn't say great... yet), and the LCD helped incite confidence in the people I was photographing because they got to immediately see the results. The camera became the centerpiece of the evening and I had people asking to be photographed.

I love film dearly and will never stop using it, but if I had shot these on film they wouldn't get developed, scanned and edited for another 5 months. Instead, I came home (drunk) at 2am, kicked in Camera RAW and was uploading these to the web within 1 hour of plugging the M8 into my Mac. Viva la revolucion!

I bet people will look even better behind the sapphire LCD! I like the M8 photos I've seen so far. They are as nicer than the 5d (except maybe the really high ISO stuff) and have snap more like a hasselblad.
