An extremely important thread has started on Roger's site - Focus calibration: M-lenses & M-bodies. While it has started because of the demands made by a Noctilux on the rangefinder accuracy of a film body, the M8 can also be quite demanding. Also, in some cases, like lenses whose field is not flat, but an English bow, the most effective adjustment may be different for two different frame sizes.

There were only three messages on the topic when I checked it. Let's hope it stays on topic. Again - Focus calibration: M-lenses & M-bodies. It's important.

I believe lens calibration is important on any camera using fast lenses not just leica's with noctilux attached. My wifes 1dsMkIII with 85/1.2 lens had to be matched to eachother. There are always tolerances with both lens and body that can fall on opposite ends of the spectrum causing improper focus.
