Recurring dream of dropping my MP

If it has a strap, be careful! They cause as many problems as they prevent.

Definitely a matter of opinion there. I'd say the exact opposite: they prevent far more problems than they cause. That doesn't mean that either of us is right or wrong, just that we don't agree.

Cheers

JHP,

1) Wear your MP around your neck or sew a "schwalberg" button on your jacket:bang:.
2) Use a half case, filter and lens hood:).
3) Always have a backup body;).
4) Get Insurance:eek:.
5) Pray that it doesn't happen:angel:.
6) Have handy DAG's phone number:eek:.
7) sleeping pills:p.

Regards,
Robert

FS: Hand Made Leather Camera Wrist Straps
http://www.rangefinderforum.com/pho...e/fs-3a-hand-made-leather-camera-wrist-straps

A tip from my days as one paranoid about old camera straps and strap lugs failing: use two straps; one attached normally, the other attached to two a keyring around the tripod screw stolen from an eveready case. It's not pretty, or overly comfortable, but it would work. Ironically the only camera I've ever done this on is a $30 Yashica 35, I don't bother with my $500 Leica.
It is better to just forget such paranoia and get on with using the camera; easier said than done, but if you can't make photos or enjoy using your $5000 camera it is better to leave it at home and use a cheapo.
