Has anyone tried a refurbished D600?

I was one of those who was ready to pull the trigger on a D600 when the whole oil-dirty sensor issues popped up. I read that the refurbished D600 has none of those issues and since its a good deal less expensive than a D610 I thought I should at least ask the question. Any recommendations would be appreciated!

Thank you!!

While the 7D I purchased was from Canon, it never failed me. Prior to being a refurb, it had been dropped into water. When i bought it, they included a 6 month warranty.
If the D600 you're looking at has a warranty included, I would not hesitate. My belief is that would Nikon have paid close attention to the camera when rebuilding it, kind of a one on one.

Thanks Andy, that was sort of my feeling regarding the one on one thing. Yes the camera would come with a Nikon warranty through Adorama. I own a refurb Epson R3000 and have found it be every bit as good as new and indistinguishable from new.

Thanks

I try to buy refurbished cameras and computers whenever possible. I've bought two nikon refurbs and three or four macs. New items are often just spot checked and then released. A refurb has gone through the complete testing cycle and are working at their best.

Nikon sells direct through their on line store. All come with a 6 month warranty. I bought my 16-35 f4 through them. No problems with it and I know it's up to spec.

I bought two bodies through Cametta Camera and never had a problem. They discounted them a bit more than the Nikon refurb price and extended the warranty to one year.

D600 refurbs are even better sometimes, I mean they have been cleaned..
If you buy new, Nikon will offer free shutter replace and sensor cleanning, you don't even pay fo4 shipping. For refurb, I don't know, probably the same, as they don't want D600 to me their most famous product, you know..

Sorry to say I bought a Cameta refurb last spring. It came with the dreaded oil spots. I've made do because it's an awesome camera and I got it at a great price, but now I'm thinking about sending it in for service. I mean, the spots ARE a pain to clean up on each frame in Lightroom, and it sounds like they've figured out a fix. So even though mine came with the spots, I would still recommend a refurb, especially with a decent warranty.
