A cupog camera didnt sell because it was was overpriced ever so slightly, like alot of his items. Im waiting for this to be re posted for 20 bucks less
Im assuming his not gonna keep old stock around for no reason.
Anyone know if www.cupog.com actually works? the site is banned in china, thats why i cant see any of his pictures on ebay since its linked to the site. He was kind enough to send me pictures in jpegs.

I would also put in a recommendation for Yuri at Fedka. His prices are a little higher, but you get what you pay for. My Jupiter 12 from him is outstanding.

I'd second the vote for Fedka. It's true he is a little more expensive, but after all, he's in NYC and has to pay all those NY taxes. But he's quite reliable.
Which means two things: You'll get it faster, and it's more sure to work. I've bought two cameras from him - a Zorki 6 and Kiev 4a. Both in fine shape. In the case of the Z6, I do think he could have parted with a lens cap. On the other hand, when I bought the Kiev, he e-mailed me that the lens had "slight cleaning marks" on it, so he was including another lens. The camera arrived with BOTH lenses. Can't beat that.

Good God why!!!!! There is nothing even vaguely subversive on this site!!!!
I have bought a couple of cameras from him, they were exactly as advertised, and came very well packed.

Good experience with Grizzly-baer,
One good experience and one brutally bad experience with Alex-photo.
If I had to do it again, I'd go with Oleg.
Just my experience,

An update on this thread - i have had some superb restored Feds and Zorkis from altai [ alexey ] who is great to communicate with and obviously loves old Soviet cameras .His histories and descriptions are excellent - and no quibble on fixing a rare rigid I 22 with a loose focusing ring [ useable though ] He has even offered to restore a Zenit 1 for me at cost 'cos i have bought several cameras from him ...
He tends to sell in batches on e-bay - but will accept orders ...

Just out of curiosity, how did an Italian come up with "palabras" as a user name?? As "todo el mundo" knows, that means "words" in Spanish.
For the less informed, "todo el mundo" means "all the world", or in other words, "everybody". I'm a retired Spanish teacher.

Hi Palabras,
You are asking a complex question. All what you can have from the above list is that except for one with which I had a bad experience, these people are not crooks.
But this doesn't guarantee at all that each specific item you buy from them will necessary work as it should. FSU gear is old, and a serious check of each lens or camera would demmand a serious uprise of the selling price. By this I mean that some sellers on the list are more found about gear than others, have perhaps better contacts, some perform a kind of checking of their gear for sale, one is an extremely reputable camera repairman but his stock is rather limited, some are very crude to talk with, etc etc.,
So what to do in this complex situation ? My proposal is that within this list you will not choose any seller in particular, but will act item by item. By acting I mean asking the seller several questions.
According to my experience, once you start asking and talking with the seller about the specific item, you start to know a lot about the product and the seller. But you are interested more in the product, don't forget.
Upon the impressions you get, and since you are an intelligent person, you decide where to go. But again and again, for each new item you want to buy, a new market research is to be done. Is the focusing ring smooth ?, Too smooth, are there cleaning marks ? How do you know the lens is ok ? etc, etc. Start peeling off the banana and see what is inside.
This way you will start knowing the folks too, and insert price calculations into the equation. I mean you will get a good idea of your own what can you expect from that seller at that price for such a product. But this requires experience, experience requires time and patience, and readiness to make mistakes in the way. Who is perfect ?
Cheers,
Ruben

I just received a very clean and functional Kiev 4AM from ebay seller altai. It takes exactly 40 days to arrive here in Texas, USA from where he is in "South Siberia".
