Looking for Solutions or Custom Remote Triggers/Adapters for Contax G1

Hello everyone,

I’m the proud owner of a Contax G1, and I’m looking for a remote trigger or an adapter that works with the camera. The G1 uses a 2.5mm stereo jack for the remote, and I’ve been struggling to find a compatible solution, as most products seem to be designed for the G2 or other systems.

Specifically, I’m interested in:

• A custom remote trigger (wired or wireless) that is compatible with the Contax G1.
• A 2.5mm stereo jack adapter that would allow me to connect a universal remote trigger to my G1.
• Any information on DIY solutions or custom-made triggers.

Has anyone here successfully created or found such a remote trigger/adapter? Or does anyone know of a company or individual who might offer custom solutions for this camera? I would love to hear your experiences or suggestions!

The above random example- "Contax Cable Switch L" seems to work across the line for several Contax Cameras, including the G1. It also works for the Aria, is in the manual for it.

Yes if it works on the G2 it will also work on the G1

Thanks for the fast reply! Actually I bought this one and I tried using it with my my contax but unfortunately, it doesn't seem to work. I tried to to plug it in but it doesn't fit.

Do you have any experience using this cable switch with the G1 ?

I'll confirm that the Cable Switch L300 will work. I had one for my G1's and just continued using it when I "upgraded"(stupidly) to the G2.

I can see the one I bought is the contax cable switch without the 'L'. Actually when I compare the two ports they seem a little different! Might trying the Cable Switch L instead! Thanks for the help. Looks like I bought the wrong one.

It’s quite expensive, but there is a company that was selling a radio-controlled cable release (basically a little box with a motor and radio receiver that presses the button for traditional threaded cable releases) that works up to 300ft away or something like that. Not sure if it’s still made
