Rene Gelpi RIP age 72

I just found out that Rene Gelpi died 07/09/18 from complications of Parkinson's disease.

For those of you who don't know who he was, he was a first class street/portrait photographer from Brooklyn NY.

He was featured in the June 1972 issue of Popular Photography,the July 1974 issue of Popular Photography and the 1976 Photography Annual from Popular Photography.

As a teenager just starting out in photography in the 1970's, his work really inspired me.

It's kind of sad when one of your idols dies...
