Renting a camera in another country?

I'm travelling to Indonedia in a couple of months, and don't want to lug around my mirrorless system for the whole trip. I was thinking to rent a camera for a couple of days to shoot some portraits while I'm there. Prices are quite reasonable (35$ CDN a day for 5D MK3.) I was wondering if anyone had experience renting a camera in another country, if I will need a credit limit for the full value of the camera, anything else?

I'd look into local insurance against the usual (theft, accident, act of God...) and add that into the price.

Alternatively pick up an older m4/3 camera with a couple of lenses or a Sony RX100 III and sell after the trip.
