reogranizing some of the forums

I'm fairly new and was at first very confused by the long list of forums on the sidebar.

I would think that a system of subfolders that popup or have the expand/contract switch on them would be a way to help new users.

I think we all find our way around, but it could be easier 🙂

I would favor just one line for each brand that is included and then the "expand" to exact models if necessary.

Thanks for always improving things here...we all do appreciate it.

I know lots of folks get excited about forum organization, but I have to say I rarely notice it. Most of the time, unless I'm looking for a specific bit of information, I just click the "New Posts" or "User CP" buttons to find out what conversation is going on and don't think about the organization of forums.

isn't that because you're a mod that you need to check all the new posts?
for people with specific interests, forum organization definitely helps! otherwise we would just have one big message board 😱

No, not really. I've interacted with all boards I've subscribed to this same way for aeons, when they allow it.

As a moderator here, I do spend more time reading almost all the new posts and threads, though, so I use the "new posts" button a bit more often.

As much traffic as there is here, I wouldn't limit my reading and browsing to just one forum. I'm interested in way too many things for that kind of specificity. On bigger sites, like DPReview, I tend to look at the two or three forums that are discussing things I'm interested in rather than scan everything because there's too much there to scan (and too little worth taking the time on ...).

It's a really tiny detail, but the apostrophe in "120 RF's" always bothered me a little.

Under larger than 35 rf.. I was wondering if we could also get rid of the naming convention for LF rf and folders. Rfs in LF are actually a small percentage of the cameras discussed here and in the folder section, we discuss as much scale focus as rf folders.
