Can we get a forum (top level, like this) that would be a place to stash our notes for camera repars? Big disclaimer, of course (you break your camera in half, you get to keep both halves!), but I've got the Mamiya 7, Universal, and now Voigtlander Prominent rangefinder adjustments I'd like to post and it isn't clear to me where they should go.
Not that I need be told where to go, &c.

Sorry. Stream of consciousness tonight.

I think that it is a good idea. The cost to repair a Canonet or other equivalent fixed-lens RF is getting prohibitive at $75 or so. I was surprised at how well the Canonets that I picked up from Rob responded to Flood Cleaning. Same is true of the viewfinder cleaning. I will take some snapshots of the next flood cleaning and other common repairs that I do for the Forum.
BTW: There used to me a four-picture upload per day limit for attachments. Is that "lifted" now? Four attachments would make an illustrated repair thread limited.

When I uploaded my FED2 service thread the only restriction was one photo a minute. I put up 15 pics in about 25min so I guess it's been lifted. That was on 07/25/04.
EDIT: I though I should say I think a repair forum is a great idea btw

I agree that a repair forum would be helpful. I've got some QL17 photos and some brief notes I could post, mostly what I've learned form other sites, then went off and did on my own QL17's. But sharing the experience might help others here rather than spending hours tracking it down elsewhere on the net.
With all the searching I've done, I've managed to clean up a couple QL17's, swap some parts between them, and make some basic repairs. I also bought the service manual, and found some very detailed notes on the net. I've got a couple parts QL17's coming that I am going to use for 'training' for swapping a lens before doing this on my minty QL17 in black. I'd photograph that a post it if I had a thread to do so.
