I was just wondering if anyone knows of a repair person that will collimate an Industar 61 for close-focus (3-5 meters) use on my Leica M3. The lens has the typical backfocus issues common with FSU stuff. It also needs a general CLA. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I know that I could theoretically do it myself, but every time I end up working on a lens, I just seem to make it worse. I want a professional to do the dirty work. Thanks!

I am like you in that I am not handy. Did you find a repair person? Is anyone else on the list doing this kind of work?

Those lenses as most sonnar/tessar using the pre-WwIi formulas (not only fsu lenses) are rarely linear in focusing. Having both infinity and close focus on those is a dream unless you work overr f8. You collimate them for their optimum at either the first or second or for a less qualitative average.
