Recently got a TC-1 and it was working till frame 12 where i could not get a focus and the shutter won't go off. When I try to focus - 8, 30, 125, 500 in the viewfinder blinks and on the lcd it read F--. The camera seems to be working fine on f16 (focus/ shutter). Everything else on the camera works apart from the ones mentioned.
Tried removing the battery and putting it back in but nothing.
Has anyone encountered a similar problem/ error?
Thanks.

REPAIRER > Minolta TC-1?
Anyone know someone or a place that can fix a TC-1?
The problem is that the shutter wont fire at all apertures.
Someone suggested this place(www.xatx.net.tw/gosn/main.shtml) but I dont speak/ understand chinese so I can't ask them if they can still fix the camera.

I'm sure you will find a repair shop in Europe, even in UK.
Did you check these shops?
http://www.cameraclinic.co.uk/
http://www.camerarepairworkshop.co.uk/
There is also a related post in photoclubalpha.
The most recommended in the Minolta forums is runtime, located in Germany. Mail contact in english shouldn't be a problem.
(I'm not affiliated to any of these suggested firms)

already contacted the ones in the UK.
I will try and contact the one in Germany.
Tried to get it repaired here in London (Sendean Cameras) but they managed to make the camera worst by no turning on/off anymore. The camera is completely dead now. Before I use to turn it on/ off and the lens would extend and the winder would move but not anymore.

My understanding is that the TC-1 is assembled by a select few in Minolta camera division (when it existed), so all TC-1s have to be sent back to Japan for repairs and Minolta offices elsewhere will not touch it.

You last option would be Kenko-Tokina Japan, which still services the TC-1.
This guy here had the same problem: http://jpskenn.homeip.net/2012/11/15/entry_10080/?relatedposts_exclude=11027
The repair cost is a flat 18,000 yen plus parts and shipping.

Kenko-Tokina Japan is the only repair shop that has the required parts. When Minolta-Konica stop making cameras it gave the repair parts to Kenko-Tokina Japan. The cost is steep, but the quality of work is outstanding. I had my Konica RF and Konica AF repaired by Kenko-Tokina Japan. All I can say is I was extremely happy.
The only downside for a non-resident of Japan is that you need a proxy (someone living in Japan) to send the camera to Kenko-Tokina Japan. Kenko-Tokina Japan does not accept or ship cameras overseas. You could try Japan Camera Hunter for help.
Good Luck.
