The black 'skin' on my lovely M3 has become so britle that one piece broke off from the front of the camera this weekend, leaving an unseemly hole in the skin.

Does anyone know if there is someone who will repair this by putting on a new skin, with a high standard of skill, at a reasonable cost, and preferably in the UK...

Thanks

You can order some kind of replacement skin from camera-leather or Aki Asahi skin and change the coverage yourself. (camera-leather also offers the service of replacing the skin for you)

Aki-Asahi skins are good and inexpensive, and they are easy to apply. CRR Luton are slow and expensive: but I understand that only they put new vulcanite on Leica bodies.

Peter at CRR routinely patches or repairs vulcanite as part of a full CLA. If your camera could use a CLA then that might help rationalize the expense a little.

Personally I've found CRR to be extremely quick with a technical proficiency that more than justifies the cost.
