$500 is insane...$30 is about right. I bought the second edition while current in a bookstore for a little over $30. It is a nice book, but If I paid significantly over list price I would be disappointed (it's good, but not that good)

... and if you read the description from Lark, this is not a reprint, but a new edition. It will now cover the M thru the new MP. The current edition goes thru the M7.

My second English edition (2005) is marked $39.95... If I'd known it could sell for $500 I might have cashed in! 😉

If you don't have it, you'll like it. Great photo examples, and the printing I have is great (I think the first printing had problems with the pages falling out-mine does not). Luckily, I found a returned copy in Barnes and Noble for 19 USD. Good book, but not 500 USD good. To bad I can't sell mine to finance a lens now 😉 .
I still say get it--good stuff in this one.

I bought this book (1987 ed.) and Shiniki Nakamura's "Leica Collection" (1991) for 6k and 1.5k yen respectively. That's a grand total of just US$89. Very happy.
