This is just a bit late, but it hit a bit hard for me.

He fueled my adolescent imagination big-time. And the work stood the test of time pretty well.

Thanks. "The Prisoner" may have been the best show ever shown on TV. I only hope they don't screw it up on the remake. Here's hoping they do as well in the update as "Battlestar Gallactica" did.

I recently introduced my wife to The Prisoner (she had never heard of it, despite being British), and was reading about the remake just before learning of McGoohan's demise. Apparently making the series had an adverse impact on his sanity, but it is certainly a landmark in the genre, with Twin Peaks and Firefly.
 
And, for those who haven't a clue, check this.

(And be prepared to lose a lot of sleep.)
