Just to put the issue of a 2-tiered membership to rest, I have written the following note to Jorge:
Hello Jorge,
First, I'm sorry for being a pain in the neck for you over the last week or so. I completely understand your need to raise money to run RFF.
Next, I'm a supporter of RFF. I love this site. I do not want to ruin it, or lead a group of dissidents away from RFF. I have a long history of being a positive supporter of you, the moderators, and RFF. I am not a recent member simply trying to stir up trouble for the fun of it.
It is clear to me now, that my efforts in trying to discuss your recent changes to RFF, are doing more harm than potential good. I will stop doing so.
It is too bad that you interpreted my efforts as being adversarial rather than helpful, which I assure you is my only intent. Perhaps I should have made my points to you via PM's rather than in public.
I've tried to do what I think is best for RFF, that is to discuss whether changes made were a good thing or not. I've taken it as far as I will go in public, and now I will drop it. I harbour no resentments: I will not be out trying to "get back" at anyone.
I care about RFF, and will continue doing my best to be a good citizen here.
