Hello everyone,

I'm thinking of getting my R3a and the 50mm Summicron that I keep attached to it looked at. The RF has recently gone a bit out of alignment vertically, and so it's getting tricky to focus, or even see if it's out horizontally as well. Is it possible for me to do this myself? I would, however, only want to do it if it is straightforward, as the Camera is likely to be the best I have for quite a while.

Also, the 70s 'cron has always had a tiny smear of oil (I think) on the apeture blades. Now, I'm happy with the results, and shining a torch through the lens, I think the glass is pretty clear. So, should I worry, or leave it for a couple of years?

If I do need someone to see either the camera or lens, could someone recommend a place in central London. I'd love to be able to drop it off myself and not have to wait for the postman.

Thanks for any help,

David

Hello,

Looks like the camera can stay out of the shop for the moment - I did a search through the site and found some instructions for correcting the RF patch. I'm still to be absolutely convinced as I need to check the accuracy of the focussing, but the difference between before and now is amazing.

As for the lens, unless anyone tells me that there's a major problem, that can wait for the moment as well.

David
