Hi all
I didn't want to highjack the neigbor thread on this subject but as you will see, the subjects are related.
I received my M3 after a CLA and an RF prism replacement from Luton.
After a few test it became clear that the RF needed adjustement. I measured a miss of something like 3 to 5 cm at 1m distance. enough not to be in focus at f/2.
I talked to Peter, which was of great help and explained me how to adjust the cam excentric. Now the near focus is perfect, but the infinity focus is just a tiny bit off.
Peter advised me not to mess with the arm excentric and I didn't.
At the first occasion I can step in a Leica repair shop, i'll get this set, but meanwhile, I would like to know if the camera is fully usable or if I have to be carefull at certain distances and apertures.
I wanted to measure how off I was at infinity. I set the lens on infinity and found a target that seemed in focus. I measured the distance to the target and it came out to be about 35 to 40m.
What do you think?
BTW, do you know if the special tool required to adjust easily the RF arm cam is available from some source?
Thanks
