You mean Rich did?
Not his fault...... should he have realized it was going to be a Leica only final? Tough to guess beforehand. Hindsight's 20/20...I agree, next poll should be better. M2/M3/M4/MP grouped and the M6/M7 grouped.
Thanks for the time Richard, it was fun.

Black is beautiful

Black is beautiful

It's a pity the cameras are not shown in black.
:bang:
And the shown M6 is a M6TTL, finally. The classic M6 with it's 2.5mm lower top plate looks better.

When I look at a modern car, part of whether I like it or not depends on whether I could recognise it from across the street. It often seems that they are not so much designed to inspire, as to not offend too much. You have a Final line-up of cameras that I would be hard pressed to tell apart from the far end of a large dining table.
Classic lines, elegant simplicity, does the job extremely well. What am I describing, a Leica or a house-brick ?
Think I'll stick with the old'uns, at least I know which one's which.
Regards,
Tim.

After college and before graduate school, lo' these many years ago, I was the lead technician in a research lab and I was very active in photography. I had just finished a stint as the associate photo editor for our daily paper at school and had had a small collection of prints in a show in New York (I went to Columbia). Our main microscope in the reasearch lab had a Leica afixed to it - - something far out of the price range of a recent undergraduate and soon-to-be poor graduate student. I looked at that body every day for 3 years, many hours a day. I voted for the M2 because it reminded me of my first love.

The M2 is in my humble opinion the basic camera for most applications and travelling - mine is fitted with Tom Abrahamsson's Rapidwinder and its fast!
With the 8 element Summicron 35mm f2 - it becomes an all purpose rig for most
situations.

I own also the M3, M6 and Canon P - but it is the M2 that I take out more often

Rich,
Ignore all the cry baby remarks, and know in your heart, you did a great job.
Let one of them run the next one.
Best, Art

I noticed....377 members voting so far ..that's an additional 150-or-so in the last 16 hours.
Quite a few of them favoring the MP...I see Jorge's wicked plan now 🙂

The push on the QL GIII past the 'P' is more impressive, and IMO perplexing (there's another wicked plan 🙂 ).

I've just come to this poll at the last minute. What happened to the Canon VT? Why wasn't it nominated? It's a great rangefinder!

do you have to be a member to vote?

Yes - and you can only vote once.

Nice try joe 🙂

Does it have anything to do with the fact that the Canon P now has dropped to the last spot (which I must admit I don't think it "deserves")?

Hmmm...given the way things keep "moving" - is the Florida Elections Commission running this poll? 😀
