In a very friendly and fun photo challenge on fall foliage on the nelsonfoto site, http://www.nelsonfoto.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=1258 the winning entry, chosen by voting members of the forum, turned out to be a lovely B&W shot of a leaf. The winner, hebert01, added these technical details:

details of the shot...Leica M3, 50mm CV Nokton @ f/1.5, TMX souped in PMK Pyro, scanned on a Minolta 5400. Taken on the steps outside a church in Newport, RI.

There were some really nice entries in the challenge, mostly colour and many taken with SLR's. Just shows what a good eye and a 50mm lens on a RF cam can achieve!

A really beautyfull picture.

No doubt the photographer has a good eye and taste.
This picture proves that taking good pictures is just a matter of brain (taste), fingers, light and a camera.

thanks very much, guys. I don't often "speak" much on these forums, but I'm a frequent visitor to many of them. I enjoy learning from the seemingly limitless technical knowledge on forums such as this one. As I'm primarily a user of vintage rangefinder cameras, it's wonderful to have a resource like this to rely upon. I thank all of you for advancing my education on a variety of new cameras and techniques!

All the best,

Ed Hebert

Ed: I took a look at your photo blog. Inspirational for me, thanks for posting it. It's snowing here today, once I get some laundry done, I'm headed out with some RFs and a variety of films. 😀
