RF or SLR... Film or Digital... Neither

I thought it was a nice photorealistic image, but I've seen a lot of these before.

Nice but not special.

At least that's what I thought until I read what he used to create them:
"I have 8 colored Bic ballpoint pens, for this I used 6 of them plus black. They are just common everyday ballpoint pens."
 
It indeed is stunning from the technical point of view, but somehow it feels like it looses what painting has over the photography - ability to show what is invisible to everybody else than the painter - as indeed it is how he sees the subject.

Imagine that the author of this painting would have pictured Mona Lisa - would it keep it's stunning and puzzling charm?

...a good reminder for those GAS attacks!
