Yes, send them to me at chris@chriscrawfordphoto.com
I can put them on my website on a page for us to look at. Like Blake said, we need 300 dpi photos at 8x10 (or close to that).
Shall i shut the group down then?

take a breath guys and slow down a bit.
this is a good idea and having been a part of the first 2 books i know the excitement levels just jump.
be careful about editing out work and creating enemies. we accepted the first 100 people who asked to sign on and each person picked their own photos for the book. it worked out better than i thought it might.
it's a lot of work and as pointed out some folks were quick to criticize about problems that were not our doing. i was on the committee as an rff rep sort of thing but others did the work.
good luck and enjoy the process.

Film is the other way
Blake & Chris, thanks for taking on the 'grunt work' , samdj for starting the thread and to Joe for his sage advice.
I'll forward some RF images to Chris. I think we should ask our bi-photo people to submit RF images not SLR ones. I agree with Blake on the deletion of film, camera model and make etc from the information.
Chris I've a Mac as well, so I'm going to send you images and you can set them up as per ppi etc

... likes film again.
This is a very interesting project and I would like to participate (with one or two photos), too.

Raid,
email me your photos. I haven't received any yet from anyone, so you're definately not too late.

i disagree with three images per page.
One per page would be more than enough.
Yeah, less people involved then, i guess...but anyway.
Three images per page and especially from three different persons, is not too nice, i'd say.

what about a two or three volume set (divide the number of participants by two or three) depending on the interest, based on the last few books weve done I'm sure it'll be a no brainer. I'm interested for sure.

I missed out on the last volumes, I'd be interested in contributing pictures and any help I can...though I'm so busy with work that I don't want to let anyone down with empty promises. I'm open for suggestions.

Looking at the response to this thread so far I'd say there will probably be a similar number of people submitting. I think Todd is on the money with his comment
I am going to make a suggestion that the work team take the discussion off line to organize their thoughts and make some decisions, or develop some options for a larger group to consider. I just think this will make things easier to move forward, limit the choices as the project develops, decide, weight the set of options for the next issue, decide and keep moving forward in the process.

Is anyone still interested in this? Lots of people talked the first day then the thread died. Only one person has sent photos!

If I send photos, will they be on the cover and back?

Are they any good? LOL Ok, I'm joking. i'm not sure yet how i'm gonna do the cover and back. I might do a graphic design that uses type and form rather than photos to avoid hurting feelings of people not used on the cover, as could happen if i have to choose one or 2 people for the covers.

I'm certainly still interested and I assume that others are too. However I also agree with Rover's suggestion of taking the discussion offline during the planning process, make some decisions on content, style, roles of members and all the other minutiae before then posting a dedicated thread that will allow the entire community the chance to know exactly whats happening.

You can count me in too for 2 or 3 pics, I was delighted by the 2 former books.

I'm interested but it seems this is somewhat a haphazard approach. I think a new thread with your intentions, cutoff date, number of photos, size of photos etc. would make a bit more sense.
Did anyone decide who's in charge of what, seems several members have taken that role independantly. How many books are we doing? Is everyone included or just the first 25 people? Has anyone chosen a publisher? Has anyone used this publisher? Will BW images look purple, red, green or a nice combination of all of them? Are we trying to make money here or just covering our costs?
just a few questions that might make things run a little smoother...

Oh, I'm definitely interested. I was just under the impression that some rules and ideas about the book were going to be put together, ie: only photos taken within a certain time frame, only photos taken with a rangefinder, resolution specifics, deadline for submissions, photographic subjects, etc... so I was waiting on some sort of formal request for submissions.
Or will this be a messy free for all?
